»Old Danish« oil lamp instructions

Fill her up with lamp oil.
Fill up to maximum 2 cm (1 inch) from edge.
Let the dry wick soak for half an hour before lighting the lamp.
Light the lamp.
Make sure the wick has the same height all the way round the circular burner's top edge. If not you must trim it with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife. A straight wick edge is essential for a uniform flame!
Mount the chimney and adjust the flame height.
Re-adjust the flame height after the lamp is warmed up.
Enjoy the cosy light!
You put out the oil lamp by blowing out the flame. Blow on the slant into the top of the chimney. Be careful not to burn yourself - the hot air from the chimney is immense and can burn!
